The Baby Show 2019 : A Reviewby Samara Shahzad
What is the Baby show?
The show itself takes place 3 times a year at different venues and is basically a one-stop-shop for parents-to-be and new parents. The show was full of innovation, gifts, talks from experts, fashion and all the information you could want regarding babies.
Who is it for?
Simply put, it is aimed at parents-to-be and new parents, but it is also great for anyone who has a baby in their life. So great for grandparents, Aunties and Uncles and friends to attend.
How can it help me?
If you’re expecting a baby then The Baby Show is your one-stop shop to shopping for your baby, finding out all the information you need with regards to the baby’s arrival, getting information from talks about things like baby’s sleep patterns, weaning, breastfeeding and anything else baby-related you can think of. You also have experts on hand to help you pick the perfect car seat and Made for Mums have a Buggy track so you can test out the huge range of buggy’s available to pick the perfect one for you and your baby. It is basically information central and anything you want to know about bumps, births and babies can be answered by someone at the show.
Spotlight on Exhibitors at The Baby Show
I went around and met quite a few exhibitors from the show. Unfortunately, I couldn’t meet everyone but I’ve picked out a few stalls I went to, to give you an idea of what is available at the show.
Made For Mums - Made for Mums are on hand to answer your questions, help you test buggy’s and also give you the opportunity to purchase their amazing goody bag for £5 (its contents are worth £55). They are super helpful and will answer any questions you have.
Nuby - Nuby is a company you can buy all the baby essentials from right from pregnancy and beyond. At the Baby Show, they had a huge display of products from bottles to toys and they had special discounts for customers too. The super helpful customer service assistance was also at hand to offer advice and guidance.
Mum & You - If you want Eco-friendly nappies and wipes, Mum and you are the people to go to. The award-winning nappies are free from dyes, lotion and latex and are made from Chlorine-free wood pulp. Their wipes are 100% biodegradable. The products are suitable for newborns and babies with sensitive skin whilst also caring for the environment. They also do a fabulous range of skincare products for babies. You can get more information about the wonderful products here.
Bitsy Bowl - let's talk baby food. If you’re looking for organic, healthy and simple to make food for your baby, you should give Bitsy Bowl a try. Bitsy Bowl have a variety of baby food products that are all Vegan and 100% natural. I bought a few packs of their food from the baby show to try for my little one and I was very impressed. Take a look at their website for more information.
Mad Bag - If you want to buy and amazing baby changing bag that will last, Mad bag is a really good option and was available at the Baby Show. This Bag is all about organisation. The Mad Bag has an interior unit that can be picked out, organised how you want it, then inserted into the gorgeous Italian leather Bag. Check out the details on this stylish and super organised system at MADBAG.
Mustela - Looking for skincare products for babies and Mums-to-be? Mustela is a French company that provides expert skincare. They also provide special care products for babies to help with skin irritations, cradle cap and much more. Go to their website and find out more.
Ubere Mama - All you mums who are breastfeeding need to check out Uberemama. Ubere Mama is all about fashionable and practical clothing for Breastfeeding mothers. I met with the owner of the company at the baby show and we both discussed how difficult it is to find nice clothes that are practical for Breastfeeding. Uberemama really is a game-changer in my opinion as it has given those mothers who choose to breastfeed options with clothing. Uberemama goes up to a size 22, but the owner also said that she can also make bespoke outfits.
Elvie - Whilst on the subject of breastfeeding, I discovered an innovation in breast pumps at the baby show. The Elvie breast pump is a silent wearable pump with no wires, no noise and fully portable. I am actually quite amazed at what Elvie has done. If anyone is looking to buy or gift a breast pump, this is it. Its clever design means that you don’t need to stay in one place, you’re not restricted by wires and you can pump when you like and where you like. Go check Elvie out. You will not be disappointed.
Lets BAB - Finally, there was the Let’s Bab app at the Baby show. This is a new way to shop and share brands. When you share what you like, and your friends buy something from your recommendation, you earn a small percentage of cash, which you can keep or donate. Shop lots of brands including kids clothing and earn cashback while you do. You can find Let’s Bab here.
Apart from these companies that I visited, there are lots of other essential baby items on sale like pushchairs from all the big and small companies, car seats, baby furniture, toys, food, baby feeding systems, products for Mums and so much more. You will need at least a full day.
Is it Worth Going to?
Well if you’re a parent to be or a new parent then absolutely yes. There is so much information you can gain from this event and there are professionals and experts at hand to answer your questions. There are also lots of products you can buy for your newborn and there are special show discounts available over the course of the weekend. My youngest is a 21-month-old and I ended up buying things for him too. There is absolutely everything you could need/want for a baby under one roof. And even if you decide not to buy, The baby Show is excellent for inspiration and to give you ideas.
I love the Baby show its informative, interesting and fun. I loved talking to people and its the one place you can turn into babyzilla and no one will mind as everyone is on the same page.
When is the next one?
The next Baby Show is at Excel London on 28th February -1st March 2020. You can get a load of information for the baby show here. I would really recommend going especially first time parents.
